Rajinikanth Early Life

Humble beginnings marked Rajinikanth’s early life. He was raised in a Marathi-speaking family, and his father worked as a good police constable. Tragedy struck early when his mother passed away when he was just nine years old.

Facing financial constraints, he took up various odd jobs to support his family and fund his education. His journey into acting began on the stage, participating in plays and showcasing his talent in local theaters.

His forays into the film industry weren’t immediate. Before his cinematic debut in the industry, he held simple jobs as a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport Service. However, his style and charismatic screen presence caught the attention of the legendary Tamil filmmaker K. Balachander, who played an essential role in shaping his career.

Education

His starting years were spent in Bangalore, and he did his primary education here. Then he went to Gavipuram Government Kannada Model Primary School in Banglore. He was very good at studies, and not only this but he also had much interest in sports. Cricket, football, and basketball were his favorites in school times. The Ramakrishna Mission established this monastery, where they were taught about Vedas, history, and religious texts. After being admitted to Acharya Pathasala Public School for further studies after class sixth, he studied here up to class 12th.

Acting Career

He joined the Madras Film Institute with the help of his friend Raj Bahadur, a fellow decent bus driver, and completed a basic course in acting. In the film institute, he was helped by his vice Principal, A. Prabhakaran. He has acted in a total of 190 movies, which include Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, English, and Bengali films. He made the assault Bollywood Industry with Andha Kanoon but did not make as much of an impact as he had in the South. He still appeared in a few films in Hindi cinemas, such as Chaalbaaz with Sridevi, Uttar Dakshan, and Geraftaar. He made his Hollywood debut with the movie Bloodstone, which was released to much fanfare in India at the time of its release in 1988. 

He had made many places in huge people’s hearts with his first film with a very small role with acting. His second film was Katha Sangma, directed by Puttanna Kangal and released in 1976. After this, he started getting many film offers, and in 1977, his first film was released as a lead actor. The name of the film was Chilakamma Cheppindi, a Telugu Film directed by Eranki Sharma, and through this film, he became quite popular.

He was married to an Indian playback singer, Lata Rangachari, in 1981 on 26 February in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. She was a good student of Ethiraj College for Women and interviewed him once for a good magazine. By the way, before marriage, news of many of his relationships also used to come before marriage, he was in a relationship with Nirmala and Silk Smitha. They both have two daughters.

His eldest daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, is the brilliant playback singer, director, and wife of actor Dhanush. Still, they divorced in 2022, while Soundarya Rajinikanth, the younger daughter of Rajnikanth, is a graphic designer, director, and producer, and she is the wife of Vishagan Vanangamudi; both daughters work in the Tamil film industry.

  2. For the Telegu film Peddarayuduin 1995, he also won the South Screen Awards in the Best Actor Category.
